July Meeting Information

Our next meeting is planned for Monday, July 12th at 6:30 p.m.  I know some have other commitments next week, but I’d still like to get as many together for a meeting as we can.  If you are going to miss the meeting and would like notes and a copy of the presentation, just reply to this email and I’ll get it to you.

BJ's Restaurant and BrewHouse

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse (one conveniently located on Polaris Parkway in Columbus) has a new gluten-free and allergen menu.  They were so nice to email it to us to share!  If your mouth isn't watering after looking at this, then you just aren't hungry!

June Meeting Information is HERE!

Just a reminder that our next meeting of the Logan County Celiac Support Group is Monday, June 14th at 6:30.   We are moving the group over to the Crossroads Business Center (21 Hunter Place, next to Accusport).  The room is much larger and will be much more comfortable for all of us. I am attaching a map if you are not sure where this building is, and feel free to contact me at anytime for directions.

Going to Sandusky anytime soon? Lots of great Gluten Free Options!

From the National Celiac Listserv....

  •  The City Bake Shop is located downtown Sandusky at 137 East Water Street.  Wendy Kromer is the owner and has baked and decorated cakes for Martha Stewart show.  It is fun to go in and see her beautiful creations.  You can sit down with a cup of coffee and a danish.  Recently she added a couple gluten free options.  Her website is www.wendykromer.com.

When Family and Friends Just Don't Get It (from Celiac.com)

While we had a GREAT turnout of support people at our first meeting on Monday, I'm sure you can still think of a friend of family member who doesn't understand why you have to be gluten free ALL the time.  A great article from Celiac.com may help.

Your Health and Wellness with Mary Rutan Hospital

In case you missed it live last Thursday, Amy was on with Chad Wilkinson and WPKO (98.3) for their regular feature "Your Health and Wellness with Mary Rutan Hospital."  She was interviewed about Celiac Disease and the new support group starting in May.   Thanks Chad and Tammy Allison (from MRH) for the opportunity to spread the word!
